as junior year officially comes to an end, i figured it was about time to start something like this. at the very least, it will give me something to do during the summer besides weeding for hours on end.

i'm very excited for this summer, actually, even though i work 55 hour weeks. God-willing, this will be my last summer at home, which is scary, but really exciting. and i have so many goals.

i want to read. i feel like i set this goal at the start of every summer and get close to nowhere with it. but i really, really want to read this summer. i want to read books that mean something for my life. i want books to challenge me and push me toward God. finishing andrew murray's absolute surrender and attempting to actually live its words is high on my list. i also want to read joyce meyer's battlefield of the mind. and mostly, i want to finally learn what it's like to consume my Bible as if it were food.

i want to shoot. my whole college career as a photojournalist has been one in which i constantly feel like a failure. it's not that i haven't made good grades in my photo classes. but, i have just never allowed myself to believe that my talent amounts to anything whatsoever - or if i can even call it talent. i've been quite a discouragement to myself these past three years, and i need to get over that and realize that what i shoot matters, and that getting an a on my portfolio this semester at one of the nation's leading schools of photojournalism is something i can be proud of, and should be proud of. i'm going to shoot more this summer. and finally begin to establishing myself as a wedding photographer - a goal that i've had for a long time.

i want to learn. i've realized over my lifetime that i'm never as happy or content as when i'm truly learning from God. i have so many life changes happening within the next year, and learning from God as i attempt to seek His heart is the ONLY thing that will bring peace.

well, i'll let you know how the summer starts out. for now, i'll let you see some of my pho 403 portfolio. enjoy! :)
